Cole is an ordinary, likable man whose life takes a dark turn after he witnesses a brutal murder-suicide. Since that traumatic event, everything has spiraled downward—his wife has left him, he’s plagued by disturbing hallucinations, and his promising career has vanished, leaving him stuck in a blue-collar job with a carpet cleaning company. Just when it seems like things can’t get any worse, Cole is sent on a late-night cleaning assignment at an opulent Italianate mansion on the outskirts of the city. Accompanying him is Henry, the wealthy and arrogant homeowner, who delights in toying with Cole’s mind by making him believe he may have just killed his wife. A mysterious reddish stain on the carpet, a knife slicing into roasted rabbit, and an incessantly ringing cell phone all contribute to the mounting tension. Is there a real murder, or is Cole losing his grip on his already fragile sanity?
